Why do we charge APCs

Phcog.Net Journals Published under Open Access model under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license, wherein the content is free to read. The journal is non-commercial and currently, it is self-financing and not supported by any major organizations. Cost is being absorbed only with subscriptions and Article Processing Charges.

Hence, a nominal cost will be levied to cover the cost of the following

• Journal hosting systems [Wolters Kluwer Health Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai or EManuscript]
• Manuscript submission systems [Journaloweb.com]
• In-house copyediting and linguistic support
• Pagination & typesetting
• Inclusion in Crossref, giving a permanent DOI and enabling easy citation in other journals.
• Archiving in databases, where appropriate, in an internationally recognized, open access repositories.

Payment Methods

Upon submitting an article to a Phcog.Net journals, the submitting author must agree to pay the publication charge. After acceptance the article will enter the production cycle and the author will be asked to pay the publication charge.

When final formatting corrections are made, and the author approves their article for publication, payment of the publication charge must be received before the article will be published online.

Payment can be made by any of the following methods:

• Credit card payment can be made online using a secure payment via Instamojo
• NEFT or RTGS/ Cheque /DD (payment is due within 30 days).

Swift payment is advised, as the article will not be published until payment is received. Once the payment is successfully done. Kindly send the payment details along with manuscript number to Accounts Dept. – billing@phcog.net

Taxes on publication charges

As mandated by the Indian Government and based on the Goods & Service tax Law and procedures, Phcog.Net, would be charging service tax @18.00% GST on fees collected from Indian authors with effect from 1st July 2017. The said tax will be in addition to the prices maintained on the website to be collected from the authors and will be paid to the Indian Government.

Currency

You will be quoted/charged in Indian Rupees for Indian Authors and US Dollars for other countries

Waiver Policy

Articles from our Editors and Members of the Editorial Board will be published with 25 % waiver fee. The waiver fee is applicable for one paper in each calendar year.

Reviewers who review the manuscript within the specified time will be given a 10% waiver on the total publication charges for one manuscript if it is submitted as first author or corresponding author. The partial waiver fee is applicable for one paper in each calendar year.

The journal offers waivers to authors from Lower middle-Income Countries (20% waiver on the actual APC) and authors from Lower Income Countries (50% waiver on the actual APC) depending on quality of work and other special considerations.
Phcog.Net Journals reserve the right to approve or reject any waiver application. Waiver decision will be communicated to the corresponding author within one week after the request is received.
